WHO ARE YOU APOLLO ?
From Juliobona to the pop culture
takes place in the Juliobona Gallo-Roman in Lillebonne to mark the bicentenary of the discovery of an exceptional gilded bronze sculpture there, the Apollo of Lillebonne (1823) kept at the Louvre.
This original exhibition explores the many facets of Apollo, one of the best known & Olympian deities celebrated over the centuries all the way through to the pop culture. The Mougins Museum is delighted to lend two artworks that contribute to illustrate the figure of this mythical figure & its evolution since Antiquity: a bronze statuette (MMoCA211MA) & an engraving (MMoCA112fMA), both from the 17th century.
