This exhibition examines familiar objects and the life of soldiers before & after combat from antiquity to the present day. With the soldiers' daily life at the heart of this focus and thanks to a comparative approach of the ancient and the contemporary legions, the visitor will be able to apprehend the place of the serviceman within a unit over time. This exhibition bring together over 200 artefacts and documents from private and public collections.

The Mougins Museum is very pleased to contribute to this exhibition by lending a selection of artefacts from its Armoury Gallery where the world's largest private collection of Greco-Roman weapons and armour is on display. Among the artefacts on show from the MACM in Invictus.  au coeur de deux légions mythiques, you will find: antique helmets (but also that of Russel Crowe in the film Gladiator!), daggers, slingshots, arrows and spearheads, and the military diploma of a Roman soldier.
