'TO LOSE ONE'S LATIN'  : BECOMING CONFUSED!

Marc Bernasconi, private nurse by profession, is the president of LEG VI Ferrata, an association of historical re-enactment founded in September 2008.

Passionate about history and the study of everything relevant to civil, political and military life in Antiquity, Marc has immersed himself in the Greek and Latin etymology of medical terms with his job.

Through his conference, Marc will demonstrate how some current topics and idioms of the French language find their origins in Antiquity.

For all ages.

As usual, the conference will be followed by a drinks reception. This will also be the opportunity to mark the end of the 2018/19 season of the Mercredis@MACM in a convivial atmosphere.

EROTISCISM IN ART
A presentation by Laurence Dionigi

Author of several short stories, novels, youth albums and essays, Laurence also hosts literary coffees. Laurence's  presentation will be followed by a book signing of her Psyché et l’amour, which got her to win  the first prize in the Edilivre Erotic Novel writing competition in 2013.

A conference & tasting of the olive oil from La Bastide Saint-Antoine by Jacques CHIBOIS, Chef & owner of the Michelin-starred restaurant & 5 * hotel La Bastide Saint-Antoine in Grasse.

  • The conference on Wednesday 9th of January is now fully booked and will be repeated on Thursday 10th January at 6.30pm.

Highly acclaimed by our visitors, Maryse Imbert, a graduate of the École du Louvre in Egyptology and President of The Friends of the MACM, kindly gives a presentation at the MACM each year. What better location for Maryse Imbert's presentation than the Egyptian crypt at the MACM? .

Conference by Sylvie-Laure Beauthier, Professor of Classics in Versailles but whose heart belongs to Mougins.

A passionate hellenist, she enjoys sharing with her pupils and students the great importance of the Greek model and, in particular, that of tragedy.
