Bronze exhibition in London

"Bronze", at the Royal Academy in London… the MACM’s Mercury on loan

The spectacular new exhibition, "Bronze", at the Royal Academy in London, features many splendid ancient artefacts in bronze from across the ancient and medieval world, along with some modern works.

We are especially happy that our gilt bronze statuette of the Roman god Mercury is a focal point of the present exhibition.

Akin to our Augustan head, this beautiful example of the messenger god was discovered in France, this time in Bavay near Calais in the early part of the twentieth century.
